Founded in 2017 and based in Gothenburg, Sweden, Hiber has created a social entertainment platform where people can play and create on their mobile devices and PCs, without the need to code. With thousands of interactive 3D experiences created each day, and more than one million created to date, there is always something to do. 

Our company has grown from a handful of people in the early days to around 35 dedicated and extremely talented Hiberians today. In June, we raised our Series A, and are now planning to find even more talented and fun people to join the team and conquer the world!

About the Job

Working with our Director of Business Intelligence, you will work on a huge variety of different areas and tasks - no two days are the same. Hiber is a complex and unique product as it spans several different traditional product types - it’s an app, a gaming experience, a social media platform, and a User-Generated Content (UGC) platform. Some examples of things you might work on are: 

  • App:
    • Analyse user journeys from a UX perspective and try to improve the app flow and usability. 
    • Build user segmentations (using cohorts or machine learning) so we can offer a different experience based on the player’s experience/taste.
    • Curating personalised content recommendations (using popularity algorithms or machine learning)
    • Conduct A/B testing of new features
  • Gaming experience:
    • Analyse in-game data to calculate things like completion rates, game difficulty, friction points, rage quit points.
    • Monitoring game performance metrics to ensure the game runs well on all devices
  • The social media platform:
    • Social graph and networks analysis
    • Players met in-game and interactions
    • How social interactions impact other behaviours and metrics. 
  • UGC platform:
    • Looking at top creators (Hiber influencers) and how them impact the rest of the user-base
    • Analysing creation data to learn how users are using our creation tools.

Your responsibilities:

  • Design and oversee implementation of data tracking (telemetry)
  • Use SQL to extract, explore, manipulate, and summarize raw data
  • Create data pipelines (ETLs) and automate jobs to move data from SQL to reports/dashboards/analysis 
  • Build and maintain Dashboards in Power Bi
  • Ad hoc projects to analyse problems to understand their root cause, or test hypotheses.
  • Data visualization and storytelling
  • Communicate insights and recommendations to individual stakeholders or the wider team at the team meetings.
  • Juggling many projects and having good project management to ensure on-time delivery
  • Contribute to a positive, collaborative company culture.

Wish list:

  • A university degree in a related subject (e.g. Economics, Science, Engineering or Business)
  • At least 3 years experience in business intelligence/data analytics
  • Working proficiency and communication skills in verbal and written English
  • Strong SQL skills

Nice to have:

  • Python, knowledge of statistical methods, strong Excel skills
  • Experience working in the video games or digital entertainment industry
  • A passion for gaming

  • Location: Gothenburg, Stockholm (or flexible remote)
